CD 582CD_582-FS Ethernet/IP - the world's smallest absolute encoder with functional safety certification

We have exciting news to share from TR Electronic. They are the first and only coder manufacturer to offer an CIP hollow shaft safety encoder. In addition it is the smallest on the market. Super interesting for Rockwell plc users. You can now get the speed or position of an axis directly from an encoder on your safety network. The encoder meets the safety certification SIL3 (PLe) or SIL2 (PLd). The complete redundancy of the system is provided by two independent absolute coder cores in a single 58 mm case. An additional incremental output is available (HTL, TTL or analog Sin/ Cos). Fully configurable via the Ethernet/IP protocol. Thanks to the CIPsafety Protocol for on-the-fly programming of angular velocity calculation, entry/exit ratio and coder’s preset position values will be available at the PLC

Tr Electronic known for their programmable coders now offers a programmable absolute encoder approved for functional safety SIL 3 PL e. Available on different bus it integrates with different controllers to give you fonctional safety . Unlike conventional encoder the features are implemented in the encoder. For example, the safe speed monitoring or the safe position monitoring is available directly in the encoder.  The programming is done in the software of the client controller using a profile downloaded in this one. Available on different network (Profinet, Profibus, Ethercat, Open Safety, Powerlink) are easy to integrate .
